RCA ANT1550 Review

Previously I was using a Terk directional antenna which could pull in a signal well enough, but had to be adjusted depending on the channel (and direction of the tower). I decided to try an omnidirectional antenna and chose this unit because the reviews are decent and the appearance is more attractive than most of the traditional antenna’s that I looked at. This unit can lie flat, be propped up with the included stand, be hung on a wall, and even painted.

I get great reception with this unit – even better than the Terk surprisingly. I just set it about 12 inches off the ground next to the TV and it pulled in everything. I moved it around to a few locations and it worked everywhere. Couldn’t be happier.

For reference, I live in a mid-sized city within 5 miles of all the towers. We have huge oak trees all around us and some apartment complexes that are 3-4 stories tall. YMMV.
