Philips DCP951/37 9-Inch Portable DVD Player Review

I went back and forth on this because of the reviews about the picture quality and build. I am glad I bought it. My son is 3 and burned through the last “video player” option, a V55 that had the iPod dock. All of my video is iPod formatted so a “video dock” was a necessity. I could not be happier with this Philips except for one draw back. It has a “flip out” stand on the back, this is useless to me as the primary viewing is done in the car. I was hoping for some sort of attachment point, but there was not one. Short story, went to Lowe’s, bought some “velcro” fastners with sticky back and a piece of bungee. I then made a loop to hang around the headrest and the player attaches with the “velcro” and is perfect. Since it is “velcro”, I can detach and take with. As for viewing, I can see it at about 145deg, the speakers are just right (he can hear and I can still have the radio on). I will look for another one of these next year when they release a new model and buy one for back-up instead of spending 6 months trying to search out a replacement.
