I purchased this for my Canon A590IS. As many other reviewers have mentioned, it has an outside zipped pocket which can hold 2 pairs of spare batteries (4 x AA) or an extra memory card.

The case is sturdier than I thought, which was a nice surprise, has a belt loop in the back, a velcro fastened top flap, and is filled with soft lining inside to prevent scratching. I felt confident putting this case in my soft-sided carry-on bag for a long flight, knowing that my camera would be suitably protected. Once opened, the camera is easily accessible, and slides in and out effortlessly from the top–perfect if you use the belt loop.
